We complete the review of the new compact cameras that Canon Digital Ixus series officially unveiled to the public during the CES 2012, an international event being held these days in Las Vegas, with the Ixus 500 HS, a machine that has a design similar to the Ixus 125 HS younger sister, but a significantly increased budget.
The Ixus 500 HS mounts it a CMOS sensor with high sensitivity of 10.1 megapixels, which allows you to capture images of exceptional quality even in low light conditions. In support is the Digic processor 5 and a powerful 12x optical zoom (equivalent to 28 to 336 mm in the traditional format) that can be expanded thanks to the 21x ZoomPlus.
The annoying blur is avoided by the “Intelligent IS”, which tests the scene and adjusts accordingly the stabilizer to compensate for camera shake while shooting. The ISO sensitivity extends in a range between ISO 100 and 3200 while the shutter has a speed of 1 – 1 / 4000 sec.

The new IXUS is targeted at novice photographers because you can shoot in fully automatic thanks to the many advanced features included. There are, in particular, the Smart car with as many as 58 preset scene modes and face recognition for photos always perfect and natural portraits.
The scene is repeated using a large LCD display 3.0 inch PureColor II G. The Ixus 500 HS records Full HD movies to be reviewed on compatible HD TV through the HDMI cable. Available in different colors sparkling from the month of March, will have a suggested retail price not yet announced.
