PowerShot SX40 HS

Together with the PowerShot S100 we extensively discussed this yesterday, Canon has officially unveiled to the public a new “bridge” from very interesting technical features, we are talking about the PowerShot SX40 HS HS SX30 technical evolution of the price already.

The new machine stands out for its relatively compact dimensions and shapes similar to that of a digital SLR with lots of generous ergonomic grip that makes it safe and solid grip. Its strength lies in the 35x zoom covers focal lengths between 24 and 840 mm is good for every occasion.

Many of the technical characteristics are similar to the SX40 HS S100: the high-sensitivity CMOS sensor with 12.1 megapixels, DIGIC 5 and entrusted with the management function, and image processing, optical stabilizer Intelligent IS built and the shooting speed of 8 fps at full resolution.

Two options for framing the scene: the electronic viewfinder or the more practical of 2.7-inch tilting LCD screen located on the back. Beginners can work in fully automated thanks to the many advanced features included while experts can fiddle with manual controls to customize every single shot.

Not only photos, SX40 HS captures video in Full HD (1080i) with audio and can also use the zoom during filming. Last but not least the HDMI connector for direct connection to compatible HD TVs. Available from October, will have a suggested retail price of 489 euros including VAT.
